Only Kachaka Dedicated Furniture Is Supported
Kachaka and Kachaka Pro can only carry genuine dedicated furniture. They cannot move off-the-shelf desks or cabinets, home-built carts, or any object without a dedicated barcode.
Why only dedicated furniture
Kachaka does not simply “lift whatever it sees.” It identifies each piece of furniture by reading the barcode printed on the underside. When the robot slides under a shelf, it first reads this barcode to confirm which shelf it is and which storage position on the map it belongs to, and only then raises its top plate to lift and carry it.
Because recognition depends entirely on that barcode, Kachaka simply does not “know” any object that lacks one and will not lift it. This is why ordinary store-bought furniture, custom-welded carts, or boxes set down temporarily cannot be used as carry targets.
What this means for you
- To add a shelf the robot can carry, use a Kachaka dedicated shelf. Once you register the shelf and add aliases in the app, the robot recognizes it in its database.
- Do not modify the shelf or remove the barcode. If the barcode is covered, scratched, or torn off, the robot cannot read it and cannot carry the shelf. Modifying a shelf or the base carries additional risks; see Cautions on Modifying Kachaka Shelves.
- To check whether the dimensions suit your needs, refer to Kachaka Shelf Specs: Dimensions & Weight.
