Kachaka Shelf Specs: Dimensions & Weight
Both Kachaka and Kachaka Pro work only with dedicated Kachaka shelves — the robot recognizes and lifts a shelf by reading the barcode on its underside. Before you plan where to park shelves, how wide your aisles need to be, and how much storage clearance you have, it helps to know each shelf’s footprint and weight.

Main dimensions are listed below (in mm). The value in parentheses in the width column is the width with the cover panel attached; depth and height are unaffected by the cover.

- The 2-tier and 3-tier shelves differ only in the number of tiers and overall height; width and depth are identical.
- With the cover panel attached, the width grows from 488mm to 497mm. Use the larger figure when planning aisles and against-the-wall storage.
Meal cart (tall-handle model)
In addition to the basic flat-tier shelves, there is a meal cart with a tall handle whose footprint differs from a standard shelf:
- Base footprint on the floor: approx. 384mm wide × 402mm deep
- Overall height including the handle: approx. 1252mm; top tray height approx. 1005mm
- Bottom tier clearance from the floor: approx. 138mm
- Usable load surface per tray: approx. 383mm × 328mm
- Shelf weight: approx. 12kg
Because the handle is tall, use the 1252mm overall height when checking ceiling clearance, door frames, and the space beneath shelving.
Tips for planning placement and aisles
- The shelf width (497mm at its widest) plus the room the robot needs to turn determines the narrowest aisle it can pass. For real passable widths and dead-end cases, see Passage Width & Space Requirements.
- To tuck a shelf under a counter, under shelving, or into any height-limited space, set the shelf’s total height (including its load) for that piece of furniture in the app so the robot can judge whether it fits. See Setting Furniture Height.
